What To Do When You’ve Had A Bad Day

It’s a safe bet to say we all have bad days. And when we do have bad days they can bring us down and can ruin a whole week. But you can turn it around as soon as the bad day starts.

BREATHE

As soon as things start going wrong you need to stop whatever it is that you’re doing and breathe. If you continue doing your everyday tasks with a clouded mind then you’re bound to make more errors and get more stressed. Step back, make a tea and have a breather.

WORK OUT

Exercise increases your endorphins aka happy feels. Happy feels are a good thing! When you’re stressed get down to the gym or go for a run and feel the tension slip away. Once you’re finished, have a bath or shower, make a cuppa and snuggle in bed with a good book.

ACCEPTANCE

More often than not you will just have to accept that the day is what it is. So if it’s awful, just try and avoid the slow turning clock and look forward to bed time. After all tomorrow is another day!

IT’S ALL IN THE MIND

Your psychological state plays a huge part in how your day can pan out. Smile, laugh it off and think that in a year it won’t matter. A positive outlook can really help in improving your day. Yes, it is hard but keep telling yourself it’ll be okay and keep a positive head on your shoulders.

    I find bad days are usually triggered by someone else’s words or actions. They say you can only be responsible for your own response to that, and lately my reaction is to want to never have to deal with that person again. Not always practical , but there you go. I find removing myself from the scene is helpful. Getting out for a walk, going to have a quiet coffee somewhere on my own.
