A few months ago I couldn’t touch my toes. I struggled to bend without feeling like something was going to snap. But I have been inspired to do more stretching to help improve both my posture and flexibility at the gym. You never listen to your gym teacher when they tell you to stretch before P.E but there’s apparently a reason! It’s good for you, I promise. In addition, I’ve even started Beginner’s Yoga to help improve it further. However, there is something that is the root of my flexibility issues. And that’s office work. Sitting on my bum for the majority of the day, hunched over a keyboard is no good at all. Therefore, I’ve started to take up Office Yoga. Brace yourselves!
No doubt you’re aware that yoga is a fantastic alternative to doing cardio at the gym. It’s a different form of working out that helps your strength, balance and flexibility. Three things I want to improve. Not to mention it’s a fab way to clear your mind.
Beginner’s Yoga has given me some simple at home/post-gym stretching methods that do all of the above. But what about when I’m sat at my desk, starting to feel a bit stiff?
Well, Furniture At Work™ have kindly provided me with this Office Yoga infographic for you to use. The techniques are simple, relaxing and will help improve office morale. Woo, no more back pain!
Don’t be worried if you get any funny looks in the office. You can even suggest to your manager that you could collectively do Office Yoga a few times a day! It’s a great way of raising morale, reducing stiffness and improving productivity… As I’ll explain further below.
