Okay, so lately I’ve been talking a lot about what I am “wishing” for aka. desperately wanting to buy… But a huge part of Living for the Now, is knowing what you want and aiming for it. And what I want is beauty products!
Like my wardrobe, I have been abandoning my love for makeup. But for 2016 I want to start making more effort with my overall appearance because, well, it makes me feel good! I usually opt for the cheapest options I can find but I want that to change. Which is why I have been taking a look at various brands over on Urban Retreat.
A few names I recognise, and you may also too, are brands such as NARS and Laura Mercier but during my hunt for some new makeup and skincare I found a few other items I’d love to give a try.
LA PRAIRIE Anti-Ageing Foundation
Despite still being in my mid-twenties I have already started using anti-ageing products. I am a firm believer of taking care of your skin. This is why I am intending on finding a foundation with, not only good coverage but also UV protection.
The La Prairie Anti-Ageing Foundation is said to create a natural, flawless complexion whilst hydrating and nourishing skin. The perfect combination of qualities when you are as pale as I am. It’s a little scary finding foundation that LOOKS like you’re wearing foundation.
My issue in the past with foundations is that it doesn’t last… I have to keep layering it on making my skin icky. BUT this one is apparently one for all day wear so it’s definitely one I’d like to give a shoot.
LAURA MERCIER Lip Parfait Creamy Colourbalm
I’ve used Laura Mercier products in the past and I was a big fan! The packaging was to a high standard and the products were great quality and long-lasting but without a hefty price tag. With this in mind, I would love to give Laura Mercier’s Lip Parfait Creamy Colourbalm a try. It may be a little pricier than my usual lipsticks however if it lasts all day
Pale pinks and nude tones are my favourites (excluding red of course!) and I’m super intrigued to get my lips on Amaretto Swirl. The colour seems subtle but apparently gives a glossy shine.
CRÈME DE LA MER The Radiant Concealer
Usually, concealers (like foundation) is something I steer clear of. However, I believe if I found a high-quality concealer it would definitely be worth using for dark circles and imperfections.
Plant extracts help reduce the appearance of undereye puffiness, lines and wrinkles and minimise pores – definitely worth £48 especially when any redness or discolouration is diminished.
NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow
I’ve never used NARS however I’ve heard a lot about it from other bloggers. Now, I am desperate to give it a try to come up with my own verdict.
Although a little on the pricey side for one shade, its apparent intensity means I can wear it all day without worrying about reapplying.
Apparently, it goes on dry for a sheer soft touch of sensual colour but can also be applied wet for a stronger impact creating dramatic luminous matte and high shine finishes.
HOURGLASS Modernist Eyeshadow Palette
Just look at this palette and tell me you don’t love it? It reminds me of a desert from above and I just adore it!
The Modernist Palette contains 5 eye shadows that seamlessly blend to create a modern smoky eye, something I am yet to perfect!
They range from matte in texture to subtle shimmery finishes allowing versatility and uniqueness.
NARS Eyeliner Stylo
Looking at the point on this eyeliner pen I should have no problem with creating the perfect eyeliner wing (something I am very hit and miss at).
I am certainly in need of eyeliner which has high-intensity colour and can be applied easily and evenly.
Now before I go crazy and buy all of the above, can you guys offer your opinions on these brands and products? I’d love to know your thoughts.
